12 servings

12
  • 2 medium carrots
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) sunflower oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups (480 ml) warm water
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (10 g / 2¼ tsp)
  • 8 cups (1 kg) all-purpose flour

Directions

  1. 1

Peel and chop the carrots. Blend them together with the oil until you get a completely smooth, creamy mixture.

  2. 2

In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, salt, sugar, and warm water. Add the carrot-oil blend and stir until fully combined.

  3. 3

Dissolve the yeast in a small amount of warm water, then pour it into the liquid mixture and mix well.

  4. 4

Gradually add the flour, mixing as you go, until a soft and non-sticky dough forms. Knead for about 8 to 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

  6. 6

Punch down the dough on a lightly floured surface, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a lightly oiled baking pan. Allow to rise again for 2 hours.

  7. 7

Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C). Bake for 40 minutes, until the crust is golden brown and a skewer inserted in the center comes out clean.

💡 Chef's Tip

Add a teaspoon of cinnamon or a pinch of turmeric to the dough for extra warmth and color. Store the bread wrapped in a clean cloth at room temperature for up to 3 days.
