🛒 Ingredients

20 servings

20
  • 3½ cups (400 g) full-fat milk powder
  • 4 cups (500 g) powdered sugar (icing sugar), plus extra for dusting
  • 2 cans (14 oz / 397 g each) sweetened condensed milk
  • food coloring of your choice (optional)

Directions

  1. 1

In a large bowl, whisk together the milk powder and powdered sugar. Pour in the sweetened condensed milk gradually, stirring and folding until a dough begins to form.

  2. 2

Turn the dough onto a clean surface and knead by hand for 5–10 minutes until the paste is smooth, soft, and elastic — it should feel similar to store-bought fondant.

  3. 3

To color the paste, add a few drops of food coloring and knead firmly until the color is completely even throughout.

  4. 4

Dust a clean work surface with powdered sugar and roll out the paste to your desired thickness using a rolling pin.

  5. 5

Drape the rolled paste over your cake, smooth it down gently, and use any remaining paste to shape decorative figures or patterns.

💡 Chef's Tip

Wrap unused paste tightly in plastic wrap and store at room temperature for up to 3 days. If it hardens, knead in a few drops of condensed milk to restore elasticity before use.
