🛒 Ingredients

4 servings

4
  • 2 medium or large bell peppers
  • 300 g (10 oz) ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 small piece of smoked bacon (optional)
  • 1 small carrot, diced (optional)
  • 2 slices of ham
  • 2 slices of melting cheese
  • 3 tablespoons cream cheese

Directions

  1. 1

Rinse the bell peppers thoroughly under cold running water.

  2. 2

Cut a small lid around the stem at the base of each pepper.

  3. 3

Remove all seeds and white membranes from the inside. Set aside.

  4. 4

Season the ground beef with salt and pepper. Set aside.

  5. 5

In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the onion and garlic until soft. Add the diced bacon and cook until lightly golden.

  6. 6

Add the ground beef and stir well. Mix in the diced carrot.

  7. 7

Pour in one glass of water and simmer on low heat until the carrot is tender and the liquid has evaporated.

  8. 8

Cut the ham and cheese into small pieces and stir them into the meat off the heat.

  9. 9

Add the cream cheese and mix until the filling is smooth and creamy.

  10. 10

Generously fill each pepper with the stuffing and serve immediately.

💡 Chef's Tip

For a golden gratin finish, place the stuffed peppers in the oven at 180 °C (350 °F) for 15 minutes. Great served alongside steamed rice or a crisp green salad.
