🛒 Ingredients

6 servings

6
  • 500 g ground beef
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 eggs
  • 50 g grated Parmesan cheese
  • 60 g all-purpose flour
  • Salt, oregano, parsley and black pepper to taste
  • 100 g thinly sliced ham
  • 100 g sliced mozzarella cheese
  • 1 carrot, thinly sliced into rounds
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, halved
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced into rings
  • 80 g pitted green or black olives
  • Italian seasoning to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Preheat the oven to 180 °C (350 °F). In a large bowl, combine ground beef with garlic, chopped onion, Parmesan, lightly beaten eggs, salt, oregano, parsley and pepper. Add the flour and knead with your hands until the mixture is firm and well combined.

  2. 2

Spread the meat mixture onto a lightly oiled sheet of aluminum foil, forming a rectangle about 30 x 25 cm with an even thickness.

  3. 3

Layer the ham and mozzarella slices over the meat, leaving a 2 cm border. Distribute the carrot rounds, halved hard-boiled eggs, onion rings and olives evenly. Season with Italian herbs.

  4. 4

Using the foil as a guide, roll the meat tightly into a log shape. Fold and seal the ends of the foil to hold the shape.

  5. 5

Place the roll in a baking dish and bake for 25–30 minutes until cooked through and golden. Rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

💡 Chef's Tip

Make it ahead: assemble the roll, wrap tightly and refrigerate overnight. The flavors meld beautifully. Serve with mashed potatoes, roasted veggies or a crisp green salad.
