  • 1.1 lbs fresh figs
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots
  • 1/3 cup dried cranberries
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2/3 cup sesame seeds

Directions

    Pulse the almonds in a food processor until mostly finely chopped. Transfer to a large bowl.

    Coarsely chop the figs, then process them in the food processor until a smooth, sticky paste forms.

    Add the fig paste to the almonds. Mix well by hand, incorporating the dried fruits, brandy, honey, and ground cloves.

    Divide the mixture into 6 portions and shape into uniform balls.

    Spread the sesame seeds on a tray. Roll the balls in the seeds until completely coated.

    Loosely cover the tray with a clean cloth and let dry for one week in a cool, dry place before wrapping.
