  • ½ head of cabbage
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 plum tomato, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 4 sprigs of thyme
  • ½ Scotch bonnet pepper
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper

Directions

    Add all ingredients to a large skillet over medium heat and cover with a lid.

    Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

    After 10 minutes, reduce the heat to low and continue cooking for an additional 5 minutes until the cabbage is tender.

    Remove from heat and discard the thyme sprigs before serving.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra flavor, do not remove the Scotch bonnet pepper completely; let it infuse for a bolder taste. You can also add smoked bacon bits for extra richness.
