🛒 Ingredients

5 servings

5
  • 1 cooked shredded chicken breast
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 can corn, drained (7 oz / 200 g)
  • 1 can tomato paste (5 oz / 140 g)
  • 1 cup (200 ml) water
  • 1 cup (200 ml) heavy cream
  • Salt to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic until softened and lightly golden, about 3 to 4 minutes.

  2. 2

Add the shredded chicken and stir well to combine, letting it warm through and absorb the aromatics.

  3. 3

Stir in the tomato paste, ketchup, mustard, corn, and water. Simmer over low heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly.

  4. 4

Season with salt to taste, then remove from heat and gently fold in the heavy cream. Never boil after adding the cream.

  5. 5

Serve immediately over steamed white rice or egg noodles, topped with crispy potato sticks if desired.

💡 Chef's Tip

Remove the pan from heat before adding the cream to keep the sauce silky and prevent curdling. For extra depth, a pinch of paprika works beautifully in this dish.
