🛒 Ingredients

50 servings

50
  • 1 can (14 oz / 395 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • Green food coloring (or any color you like)
  • 1 lb (500 g) seedless green or red grapes
  • 1½ cups (approx. 200 g) powdered sugar, plus extra for dusting hands

Directions

  1. 1

In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the condensed milk and butter over medium heat. Stir constantly with a wooden spoon or spatula for 10–12 minutes until the mixture thickens and pulls away cleanly from the sides of the pan.

  2. 2

Transfer the warm dough to a lightly buttered dish and let it cool completely at room temperature — about 30 minutes.

  3. 3

Knead in the powdered sugar gradually until the dough is smooth, pliable, and no longer sticky. Add a few drops of food coloring and work it in evenly.

  4. 4

Using scissors, snip the grape stems to about ¼ inch so the grapes don't burst or release moisture. Pat them dry with a paper towel.

  5. 5

Pinch off a teaspoon-sized piece of dough, flatten it in your palm, place a grape in the center, and close the dough around it. Roll gently to smooth the seam. Dust your hands with powdered sugar if the dough sticks. Place finished bites on parchment paper.

💡 Chef's Tip

Keep the grapes refrigerated until just before wrapping — cold grapes help the dough hold its shape. For a party platter, divide the dough into three portions and tint each a different color.
