🛒 Ingredients

6 servings

6
  • 500 g (1.1 lb) flank steak or skirt steak
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 1 fresh red chili pepper
  • 1 tablespoon wine vinegar
  • Salt, to taste
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion, sliced into rings

Directions

  1. 1

Cut the beef into small cubes, roughly 1.5 cm each.

  2. 2

Combine the crushed garlic, chopped chili, vinegar, and salt. Coat the beef thoroughly and let marinate for 15 minutes.

  3. 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.

  4. 4

Add the beef cubes in a single layer and let them sear without stirring to develop a golden crust.

  5. 5

Cook until all the released liquid has evaporated, then continue frying until the meat is well browned.

  6. 6

Add the sliced onion rings to the pan when the meat is almost done.

  7. 7

Cook for another 3–4 minutes until the onions are soft and lightly caramelized, then remove from heat.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra tenderness, marinate the beef for up to 1 hour in the fridge. Serve over white rice or with roasted potatoes for a complete meal.
