  • 2.2 lbs beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • Wraps or pita bread for serving

Directions

    In a Dutch oven or slow cooker, combine the beef broth, lemon juice, and all the spices.

    Add the beef roast and turn to coat it well with the sauce.

    Cover and cook on very low heat for 4 to 5 hours in a slow cooker, or 2 to 3 hours in a Dutch oven at 320°F (160°C).

    Remove the meat and shred it using two forks to get pulled strands.

    Serve the braised meat in warm wraps with tomatoes, onions, tahini sauce, and raw vegetables.

💡 Chef's Tip

You can prepare the meat the day before and gently reheat it. Serve with tahini sauce or plain yogurt to balance the flavors. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3 days.
