🛒 Ingredients

15 servings

15
  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tomato, peeled and diced
  • 1 small bunch of fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • Salt to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Directions

  1. 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with the chopped onion, diced tomato, and fresh cilantro. Mix thoroughly with your hands until evenly combined.

  2. 2

Add the egg and flour to the meat mixture. Season with salt and knead until you have a smooth, firm dough that holds its shape well.

  3. 3

Shape the mixture into small bite-sized balls by rolling portions between your palms.

  4. 4

Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the meatballs in batches, turning them occasionally, for 8–10 minutes until golden brown on the outside and fully cooked through.

  5. 5

Remove with a slotted spoon, drain on paper towels, and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

💡 Chef's Tip

Swap cilantro for flat-leaf parsley if you prefer a milder flavor. For extra crunch, lightly coat the balls in breadcrumbs before frying.
