🛒 Ingredients

5 servings

5
  • 2.2 lbs (1 kg) beef liver
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 green bell peppers
  • 2 large onions
  • 3 tomatoes

Directions

  1. 1

Cut the liver into small cubes. In a bowl, combine lemon juice, salt, crushed garlic, and soy sauce. Add the liver, toss to coat and marinate for 20 minutes.

  2. 2

Dice the onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers into small cubes. Set aside.

  3. 3

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat.

  4. 4

Drain the liver from the marinade and sauté for about 15 minutes, stirring regularly, until lightly browned.

  5. 5

Add the bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes. Stir to combine.

  6. 6

Cook for another 10 minutes over medium heat until the vegetables are tender and the sauce has reduced slightly.

  7. 7

Serve as a snack with toasted bread bites or as a main dish alongside fluffy white rice.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra tender liver, marinate for up to 1 hour in the refrigerator. Avoid overcooking — the liver should stay slightly pink inside to keep its soft, juicy texture.
