  • 17.6 oz beef (ribeye or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 5.1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 fresh lemon (juice and zest)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 medium onions, sliced
  • 4.1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup water
  • Ground black pepper, to taste
  • Salt, to taste

    Slice the beef thinly. Marinate for at least 1 hour (ideally overnight) in soy sauce, lemon juice, black pepper, and minced garlic.

    Heat the oil in a skillet. Sauté half of the onions until golden and translucent. Set aside.

    Drain the beef, reserving the marinade. Sear the meat for 1 minute per side in the same skillet. Set aside.

    Add the remaining garlic and onions. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until the onions soften.

    Pour in the reserved marinade and water. Bring to a boil. Add the beef and cooked onions. Simmer for 15-20 minutes. Adjust seasoning.
