🛒 Ingredients

3 servings

3
  • 300 g pasta (penne, rigatoni or your choice)
  • 200 g beef sirloin, cut into thin strips
  • 3 tbsp Philadelphia cream cheese
  • 300 ml whole milk
  • 1 tsp plain flour
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • Fresh parsley, salt and black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Cook the pasta in a large pot of generously salted boiling water according to package directions. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of cooking water.

  2. 2

Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté the onion and garlic for about 2 minutes until softened and lightly golden.

  3. 3

Add the beef strips and cook on high heat for 3–4 minutes until nicely browned. Season well with salt and black pepper.

  4. 4

Sprinkle the flour over the beef and stir to coat evenly. Gradually pour in the milk while stirring continuously to prevent lumps from forming.

  5. 5

Add the Philadelphia in pieces and stir over low heat until the sauce is smooth, velvety and coats the back of a spoon.

  6. 6

Finish with a pinch of nutmeg and chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately over the hot drained pasta.

💡 Chef's Tip

A splash of reserved pasta water loosens the sauce perfectly if it gets too thick. Penne or rigatoni are ideal shapes to hold all that creamy sauce inside their tubes.
