🛒 Ingredients

4 servings

4
  • 4 beef steaks (sirloin, ribeye, or top round)
  • Salt, black pepper, and dried oregano to taste
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 medium potatoes, sliced into rounds
  • 1 medium onion, sliced into rings
  • 1 ripe tomato, cut into thick strips
  • 1 tablespoon pitted olives
  • 1 cup hot beef broth

Directions

  1. 1

Season the steaks on both sides with salt and freshly ground black pepper.

  2. 2

Heat the vegetable oil in the pressure cooker over high heat. Sear the steaks for 1–2 minutes per side until nicely browned, then set aside on a plate.

  3. 3

Without cleaning the pot, arrange 2 steaks flat on the bottom. Layer over them half the potato rounds, tomato strips, and onion rings.

  4. 4

Place the remaining 2 steaks on top, then add a second layer of potatoes, tomato, and onion.

  5. 5

Drizzle with olive oil and pour in the hot beef broth. Seal the pressure cooker and bring to high heat. Once pressure is reached, lower the heat and cook for exactly 5 minutes.

  6. 6

Remove from heat and allow pressure to release naturally. Open the lid, scatter the olives over the top, sprinkle with oregano, and serve hot.

💡 Chef's Tip

Do not exceed 5 minutes of cooking time under pressure — the beef will remain perfectly tender and juicy. For extra depth, rub the steaks with garlic and oregano 20 minutes before cooking.
