🛒 Ingredients

4 servings

4
  • 14 oz (400 g) beef cubes or cooked ground beef
  • 2 cups long-grain white rice, rinsed and drained
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 carrot, sliced into rounds
  • 5 oz (150 g) green beans, cut into pieces
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 1/2 beef bouillon cube dissolved in 4 cups hot water
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Directions

  1. 1

Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté the onion and garlic for about 3 minutes, until golden and fragrant.

  2. 2

Add the rice and stir for 2 minutes to toast it lightly and coat each grain with oil.

  3. 3

Stir in the soy sauce and tomato sauce until well combined.

  4. 4

Pour in the hot broth (avoid using the full bouillon cube to prevent oversalting). Stir gently.

  5. 5

Add the beef, green beans, bell pepper, and carrot. Mix carefully.

  6. 6

Cover and simmer over low heat until the rice is al dente. Add a splash of boiling water if needed to finish cooking.

💡 Chef's Tip

For extra depth of flavor, deglaze the pot with a splash of dry white wine before adding the broth.
