Directions

  1. 1

Check the freshness of the salmon. Using a sharp knife, cut it into small, uniform cubes of about 0.4 inches. Keep chilled.

  2. 2

Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit and skin. Dice the flesh into cubes the same size as the salmon and immediately drizzle with a splash of lime juice to prevent oxidation.

  3. 3

Peel and finely mince the red onion into very thin strips. If the flavor seems too strong, rinse them quickly under cold water and drain.

  4. 4

In a large bowl, gently combine the salmon, avocado, and red onion. Add the cream cheese in small pieces to achieve a creamy and uniform texture.

  5. 5

Sprinkle with sesame seeds and, if desired, add the soy sauce. Mix very gently using a spatula so as not to crush the ingredients.

  6. 6

Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper (be careful if soy sauce has already been added, as it is naturally salty).

  7. 7

Serve immediately in small glasses or shallow bowls. Accompany with crackers, toasted bread, or wonton chips for crunch.

💡 Chef's Tip

The quality of the salmon is paramount: choose salmon labeled 'sashimi grade' or, if unavailable, freeze your salmon for 48 hours before consumption—this eliminates potential parasites. Thaw it the day before in the refrigerator for a perfect texture.
